Tenerife Beaches
It goes without saying that the beaches in Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are perfect for everything. Huge amount of bars and restaurants to choose from, lifeguards, lots of sun beds, water-sports and anything else you'd expect from a beach. Very popular, busy beaches.
Playa Jardin - Puerto de la Cruz
Long, man made beach (black sand) split into three sections; a blue-flag beach with bars and restaurants are adjacent. Small breakwater though not the most effective I've ever seen!
El Bullullo - La Orotava
There's a bar by the beach and there are some basic facilities. Nice clean beach but no breakwater..

Playa de Las Teresitas - another man-made, yellow Sahara sand beach. Situated a few miles from Santa Cruz. Popular with the locals, there's a large breakwater protecting this beach making it a great beach for kids. Palm trees help for finding some shade. The adjacent fishing town of San Andres means a great choice in fish restaurants! There's easy parking, showers, public toilets and phones; row boats for hire.

Playa del Roque - Taganana
Crystal clear waters, dark sand and spectacular views. Its large waves makes this stretch of coast a favourite with surfers. Not far away are two similar beaches - Almáciga and Benijos.
Bus connections: 246, 111, 102, 103

Playa del Médano - Granadilla
Recommended for Windsurfing

Las Gaviotas Beach.
20 minutes from Santa Cruz. Drive towards Playa de las Teresitas but keep on driving up the mountain and then down to the beach. Also popular as a gay beach. Basic facilities and a small bar.
Playa de la Tejita - El Médano
Bus connections: 116, 111, 408, 461, 470, 483, 486
